Blueberry Jelly | Light

Grown in the mountainous region of Jinotega, Nicaragua, this Maracaturra nanolot comes from member farmers of Gold Mountain Coffee Growers. Maracaturra is a rare hybrid of Maragogype and Caturra, known for producing unusually large cherries and expressive cup profiles when cultivated at high elevation. Gold Mountain first explored the variety’s potential through plantings at their variety garden on Finca Idealista before sharing seeds and saplings with nearby producers, allowing this exceptional coffee to spread throughout the region.

This washed lot undergoes a 16.5 hour fermentation, creating a cup with remarkable clarity while highlighting the variety’s naturally vibrant fruit character. We kept the roast light to showcase the coffee’s bright acidity and layered sweetness.

In the cup, expect notes of blueberry jelly and ripe plum, balanced by a sparkling rock candy sweetness that carries through a clean, elegant finish. The result is a lively and fruit-forward coffee that highlights the unique character Maracaturra can deliver when grown and processed with care.
