Air Roasting

Air roasting is a coffee roasting method that uses a stream of hot air to roast the beans, eliminating any direct contact with hot surfaces. Unlike traditional drum roasting—where beans tumble inside a heated drum—air roasting suspends the beans in a chamber of circulating hot air, ensuring they roast evenly on all sides.

The process takes place inside a specialized machine known as an air roaster. Beans are placed in the roasting chamber, where powerful streams of hot air rapidly circulate around them. The roasting temperature and airflow are carefully controlled through the machine’s settings, giving the roaster complete precision over the final roast profile.

This method allows each bean to roast evenly and consistently, which enhances flavor, aroma, and overall quality. The ability to fine-tune the roasting process makes air roasting a popular choice among coffee enthusiasts and roasters who want to deliver a clean, consistent, and flavorful cup of coffee every time.
